Jesse's Birthday

For Jesses 11th birthday, he chose to go to Cabelas. For those of you who don't know, it is a gigantic playground for the outdoorsy person.

We had luch there and the boys had Buffalo burgers. They are very tender and jucey. We sat at the table with the racoon skin in it.

There are a lot of things to see. The boys are standing in front of a fall scene. Below them is a pond where you can feed the fish.

Then there is the best place in the whole store, the shooting gallery! (Well, it is the best place if you are 11 or 6 anyway) Everything reacts when you shoot it. It was so much fun. The boys were pritty good shots too.

This year Jesse decided he wanted a Mickey Mouse cake. It took two days and 4 stores to find the black food coloring. I guess black is not a popular color when it comes to decorating cakes. And for those of you who have never tried to mix all the food coloring colors and try to make black, and are wondering if I could have just done that- I've done it before, it doesn't work.

Michael gave Jesse a kit with markers and fuzzy pictures to draw on. His favorite!

Scouting and Opener of the Bow Hunt

Tom and dad went scouting for deer and Elk before the opening of the hunts in September of 2008. They stayed in Toms trailer. Jesse, Michael, Madi and Mom came to visit for the day on Saturday. It got a bit cold, but not too bad. We played in the mountains, enjoyed the sceanery and of course road the 4 wheelers!

Madison love to be outdoors. She has an adorable pink coat with bear ears on it. CUTE!! Then there is Jesse being Jesse.

Everything was just starting to turn colors. It was beautiful. So much fresh air!

Jesse took a class this pas summer to get a permit to ride a 4 wheeler. He passed with flying colors. He loves being the one to drive his little brother around instead of an adult driving him around. Michael liked going "very fast".

July 24 dinner

On July 24 we had Grandma and Grandpa DeBoer over for dinner and fireworks. Oh yeah, and Uncle Tom too.

Dad barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs. Classic American food!

The Fireworks were beautiful. We had the neighbors out watching too. Some were too loud for Michael so grandpa plugged his ears. Madison was in bed.

Michael and Jesse took turned picking what firework was next.

Michaels Birthday

Michael turned 6 this year. He has been asking to go to Chuck-E-Cheeses for a while, so we surprised him with it.

The boys had a blast! They kept coming back for more tokens. They won almost 100 tickets! They were worn out when we left.

Michael got a Chuck-E-Cheese lunch box with his tickets. He was really excited to use it for his lunches for first grade this school year.

Future Chef

Jesse has always loved helping in the kitchen. He has a cookbook for kids and asks to cook all the time. This is a hot dog octopus. The kids ate it 4 nights in a row. They liked it.

New Bikes

Jesse and Michael got new bikes for the summer. Jesse got his first bike with gears! They are so excited to ride them to school in the fall.
